3 Ways to Stay Active Daily (No Gym Required)

If the pandemic taught me anything, it taught me that I can be just as active, happy and motivated to exercise without a gym routine.

Incremental Exercise

Work, kids, and of course just life can get in the way of exercise on the daily. But some exercise is always better than none. Walking in increments of 10 minutes can be a great way to get your steps in without spending too much time all at once. Incremental exercise can easily add up to 30-40 minutes as you take small breaks throughout the day.

Say Yes to Something New

Apps like Class Pass can be a great way to try something new at a discount every week. You can try dancing, barre, aerial yoga, hot yoga, pilates, rock climbing, and so much more. Get out of your comfort zone and try something new. You never know what you may love!

Make your workspace work for you

If you're someone that works from home, you probably know how time can get away from you and exercise can be difficult to squeeze in. Here are some ways you can stay active during the work day:

  • Get a stand up desk

  • Under the desk treadmill, bike or elliptical

  • Take breaks every 20 minutes for a short stretch or exercise break

  • Switch your chair for an exercise ball (take breaks and use the ball for exercise)

Flourish a Garden

Start a garden or find a local community garden to plant some beautiful plants! Being outside, taking care of a garden can be a great way to be active daily.

Ever since I can remember, I was fascinated by how much our quality of life is affected by the foods we eat.
